Familiar faces return for the 175 Old Mountaineer Reunion Weekend
This weekend saw the return of many familiar faces to Mount St Marys College, some of whom had not returned since their school years over 40 years ago.
The weekend began with a Golf Day where Old Mountaineers, staff, parents and pupils enjoyed a round of golf together at Renishaw Park Golf Club.
Saturday saw many return for the hockey and rugby matches played by current pupils and Old Mountaineers. Ruth Powell refereed the hockey match which ended 2-0 with goals scored by Lauren Parsons and Chelsea Lund. Camilla Hall put on a great performance and was awarded Player of the Match. The boys played a competitive game of rugby which ended 34-5, refereed by Old Mountaineer Kevin Carpenter. Harry Chapman was awarded Player of the Match.
The evening brought everyone together to enjoy good food, drinks and a chance to catch up with friends and swap memories from The Mount. Guests of the dinner were also treated to a truly fantastic vocal performance from our Head Girl, Scarlett Coughlan, who received a standing ovation.
Sunday closed the reunion weekend with breakfast followed by Mass in the Memorial Chapel. It was a great weekend shared by many, we even had visitors join us from as far as Iran, Australia and America.
Thank you to everyone who was involved, it was a wonderful celebration.
