Mount St Mary’s Charity Ball 2018
This weekend saw the Charity Ball take place at Mount St Mary’s College to raise money for our 3 selected charities;
Holiday Week - a unique enterprise which is entirely funded and organised by our 6th Form students in partnership with a number of local schools which serve the very special needs of children with disabilities and life-limiting illnesses. Holiday week, which takes place late in the summer term is a week where we host children, their teachers and some of their families here at the Mount. The children get to mix with our Sixth Form students and can enjoy a range of fun activities.
St Wilfrid’s Centre - a community based in Sheffield where homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded adults can find understanding, practical assistance, a sense of belonging and the support to regain self-esteem. Through a variety of different projects, St Wilfrid’s aim to provide individuals with opportunities to improve their quality of life.
Jesuit Missions - Jesuit Missions partners with Jesuit parishes, refugee camps and local organisations in 21 countries around the world, working on the front lines of action against poverty, crisis and injustice. Jesuit Missions also provide long-term volunteering opportunities to students and others to work in Africa, Central America and Asia.
The evening was great fun with a casino themed dinner menu, ‘fun money’ casino tables, a raffle and dancing where a large amount of money was raised for our 3 charities.
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the evening.
