GCSE celebrations as students secure their highest results to date
Mount St Mary's students are once again celebrating excellent exam successes. With the GCSE pass rate up once again, with 87% of grades at A* - C, the news reflects a continuation of excellence and growth.
Whilst we are delighted for each and every student, there are some standout successes who continue to increase the bar both in terms of academic achievement and the scope of their ambitions.
Both Mayowa Olubowale and Rhys Williams achieved a whopping 10 A*/A grades a piece. Rhys now adds to his tally of GCSE grades having already secured A* German in year 9 followed by A*s in French and Spanish whilst in year 10.
We are especially thrilled for year 10 student Shreyan Ghosh who joined the College from India less than two years ago. Shreyan achieved a highly coveted grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics and moreover, achieved a remarkable 100% on one of his papers. Well done Shreyan. Year 9 Kevin Ding also demonstrated he is also an accomplished mathematician achieving grade 7, equivalent to a grade A.
The Mount continued to grow in 2016-17 and 2017-18 is set to continue this upward trend. At Academy last May we kicked off the Mount 175 celebrations in style. Our year of celebrations continues from September with very special events planned each months. We look forward to everyone associated with the Mount, old and new, joining us as we celebrate not only the College’s wonderful history, but it’s very bright future.
